[§139] The Date for the Gathering at Adam-ondi-Ahman
Daniel 7:25 indicates that the latter-day dominion of the little horn1 will continue "until a time and times and the dividing of time."2 This prophetic phrase identifies a period of three and a half (3½) years,3 where time equals one (1) year, times equals two (2) years, and the dividing of time equals one-half (½) year.4 This 3½ year period identifies the set time5 for the future gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman.6 In that future day all earthly thrones will be cast down7 and Satan's dominion will be taken from him in the spiritual fall of Modern Babylon.8 At the same time Modern Babylon falls spiritually,9 "the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever" as stated in Daniel 7:18.10
The combined visions of Daniel and John indicate that the 3½ years associated with the gathering at Adam-ondi-Ahman corresponds in time with the midpoint of the seven-year battle of Armageddon.11 The analysis leading to this conclusion begins with Daniel's Seventy Weeks Prophecy found in Daniel 9:24-27.12 The last verse in this prophecy describes the seventieth (70th) week of seven years just before the Second Coming.13 According to this prophecy, Jewish sacrifices in the temple at Jerusalem will cease at the midpoint (3½ years) of these last seven years. This is when the Great Tribulation will begin, which culminates with the final Abomination of Desolation immediately before the Second Coming.14
The final (70th) week in Daniel's Seventy Weeks Prophecy corresponds to John's vision of Physical Armageddon during the Second Woe in Revelation 9:13-21.15 John does not specifically say how long Armageddon will last. However, after describing Armageddon in Revelation chapter 9, his chronological narrative continues without interruption as he symbolically describes the gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman in Revelation 10:1-7.16 Adam-ondi-Ahman is the place in Missouri where Adam (the Ancient of Days) will sit as recorded in Daniel 7:9.17 The careful combination of visions by Daniel and John lead to the inescapable conclusion that Physical Armageddon is a seven-year battle during the Second Woe that is divided at the midpoint by the gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman.
In Revelation chapter 11, John records the events that occur next after the Ancient of Days sits at Adam-ondi-Ahman. In Revelation 11:1-2, for example, John measures the same temple at Jerusalem where Daniel's Seventy Weeks Prophecy predicts the cessation of Jewish sacrifices in a Third Temple at Jerusalem 3½ years before the Second Coming.18 John measures this Third Temple in Jerusalem19 to symbolically show how Jerusalem will be preserved against Gentile attacks20 during this last 3½ year period called the Great Tribulation.21 In Revelation chapter 11, John also describes the ministry of Two Witnesses in Jerusalem during the same 3½ years, which are separately identified as 42 months and 1260 days in Revelation 11:2-3.22 The Two Witnesses will use the sealing power to preserve the Holy City during the 3½ years of Great Tribulation as described in Revelation 11:2-10.23 Given the timing of their ministry, the Two Witnesses will obviously be called during the future gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman, and they will die 3½ years later when their ministry is complete.24 When the Two Witnesses die in Jerusalem, the Gentiles will overrun the city and Third Temple as they carry out the final Abomination of Desolation at the Second Coming,25 precisely as Daniel predicted in his Seventy Weeks Prophecy.26
The foregoing analysis indicates that the time and times and dividing of time for the gathering at Adam-ondi-Ahman will occur at the 3½-year midpoint of Physical Armageddon. This is also confirmed by Daniel's further description of Adam-ondi-Ahman in Daniel 7:9-10, which states that thrones will be cast down and "the judgment [will be] set."27 This judgment at Adam-ondi-Ahman is analogous to a court of law,28 which imposes a sentence29 that must then be executed or carried out without delay.30 John confirms this in his corresponding vision of Adam-ondi-Ahman from Revelation 10:6, where the Savior declared: "There should be time no longer."31 This means that after the judgment is set at Adam-ondi-Ahman and Modern Babylon falls spiritually, the Lord will speedily execute his judgment on the wicked and bring about the physical fall of Modern Babylon 3½ years later at the Second Coming.32 Thus, the judgment on Satan's kingdom announced at Adam-ondi-Ahman will be carried out as the wicked slay the wicked during the second half of Armageddon, and the plagues of the Third Woe cause Modern Babylon to fall physically in a single day at the Second Coming.33 John describes the final cleansing of the earth and physical fall of Modern Babylon in Revelation chapters 17 to 19.34 Daniel likewise described the final 3½ years of the earth's physical and spiritual cleansing35 in Daniel 7:11, saying: "I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame."36 The beast in Daniel 7:11 is John's Second Beast in Revelation 13:11-18.
The imagery in Daniel 7:11 symbolically describes how the Beast (Cain) and the False Prophet (Judas Iscariot) will be cast into the lake of fire (outer darkness) with all disembodied spirit sons of perdition never to be loosed again as described by John in Revelation 19:20.37 The Dragon (Satan) and all unembodied spirit sons of perdition, by contrast, will be bound in the bottomless pit at the Second Coming for 1000 years in Revelation 20:1-2.38 These unembodied spirits led by Satan will be loosed again on earth39 during the little season after the millennium40 to engage in the final battle of Gog and Magog as described by John in Revelation 20:7-10.41 Daniel foresaw this post-millennial battle in Daniel 7:12, saying, "the rest of the beasts that had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time."42
