[§200] Start of Premortal Apostasy and Physical Creation

Two significant events began simultaneously when the grand council ended on Kolob.1 First, the premortal apostasy began in heaven as described in Revelation 12:6.2 Second, the Gods began to organize physical worlds,3 as described in the books of Moses and Abraham.4 Jehovah (Christ) was the principle organizer of numerous physical worlds during the long period of the premortal apostasy,5 which lasted 1260 Kolob years (453.6 million earth years).6 The first worlds created by Jehovah during the premortal apostasy were organized to become worlds of the telestial and terrestrial kingdoms in their ascending order of intelligence based on the Order of Creation.7

After 1260 Kolob years, the premortal apostasy ended and Jehovah began to physically organize countless celestial worlds in their ascending order of intelligence to be inhabited by mortal humans.8 These habitable worlds were designed and organized to become part of the celestial kingdom as they fill the measure of their creation in mortality.9 Jehovah waited to organize these habitable celestial worlds until after the premortal apostasy ended because the Order of Creation required it10 and because these worlds weren't needed as a habitation for God's spirit children until after the premortal apostasy ended.

The premortal apostasy was a time of spiritual darkness on Kolob where Lucifer had complete dominion, just as the Great Apostasy was a time of spiritual darkness on this earth where Satan had complete dominion.11 This earthly pattern indicates that when the premortal church of God fled to the wilderness of heaven in Revelation 12:6, Satan and his angels remained on Kolob to torment and afflict the lukewarm spirits that were uncommitted to either Lucifer or Jehovah during the grand council.12 Since there was no church of God on Kolob during the premortal apostasy, these lukewarm spirits could not make gospel covenants. The same conditions existed on this earth for 1260 years during the Great Apostasy.13

The lukewarm spirits that remained on Kolob during the premortal apostasy had to make gospel covenants, including their acceptance of Jesus Christ as the creator and Redeemer,14 in order to keep their first estate.15 They had to keep their first estate before they could enter their second estate in mortality.16 Based on the foregoing, it became necessary for Jehovah to create habitable celestial worlds17 only after the premortal apostasy ended in heaven and the lukewarm spirits on Kolob had a second opportunity to accept the gospel and thereby keep their first estate.18

The many lukewarm spirits that failed to accept the gospel during the grand council19 were tormented on Kolob during the premortal apostasy20 to stir them up to repentance.21 They were then given a second chance to accept the gospel22 when the premortal church of God was restored to Kolob. This sign or event in heaven has its earthly likeness23 in the restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1830 after the Great Apostasy.24 The gospel of the premortal church of God was restored on Kolob at the same time the war in heaven began, as recorded in Revelation 12:7-9.25 The premortal restoration and war in heaven foreshadow Satan's continuing war on earth against the restored church of Jesus Christ.26 In other words, the history of the Great Apostasy and restoration of Christ's church on earth in 1830 is the lens through which the premortal apostasy and restoration of the premortal church can be observed.

The church of Jesus Christ battles to save uncommitted souls on earth today just as the church of God in heaven battled to save the lukewarm and uncommitted spirits that failed to accept the gospel during the grand council.27 During the premortal war in heaven, lukewarm spirits could no longer remain neutral.28 They had to accept the gospel to keep their first estate and, as they did so, Jehovah created countless celestial worlds in increasing order of intelligence.29 He continuously created these many celestial worlds to become places of habitation for the lukewarm spirits as they began to keep their first estate during the war in heaven.30 As one celestial earth filled the measure of it physical creation as a habitation for God's spirit children appointed to that earth, it would then die and another celestial earth was created to take its place.31

This earth was the last and most intelligent of all the celestial physical worlds that Jehovah created32 and where the last of God's spirit children have been appointed to live in mortality. The scriptural account of this earth's creation can be found in Genesis chapter 1 and Moses chapter 2. Jehovah (Christ) created this last celestial earth of this generation to coincide with the end of the war in heaven when Lucifer and his fallen angels were cast down to this physical earth in Revelation 12:8-10.33 Obviously, when Lucifer was cast down to this newly organized physical earth with his fallen angels, the war in heaven had to end because Satan was defeated and no longer had a presence or any influence on Kolob.34
