[§206] Rev 12:10: Now Is Come Strength and the Kingdom

Revelation 12:10: And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come ... strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ

The war in heaven ended on Kolob1 when Lucifer was cast out of heaven with the last of the unembodied spirits that were faithful to him.2 At that time, the remaining spirits that kept their first estate rejoiced with a loud voice,3 saying, now is come ... strength. This refers to the strength of God,4 which includes the power of his Christ.5 Jehovah possessed the power of God the Father6 since the time of the grand council.7 At that time, the Father appointed Jehovah to become his Christ, which means the anointed.8

The premortal kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ in Revelation 12:10 is a type and foreshadow for the kingdom of God and the power of his Christ on earth during the millennium.9 Thus, Christ's millennial kingdom will be established on earth after the battle of Armageddon10 as the antitype for the premortal kingdom of our God on Kolob that was established when the war in heaven ended.11 Moreover, the complete history of the kingdom of our God on earth parallels the complete history of the kingdom of our God in heaven from the time of the grand council until the war in heaven ended.12 This parallel history exists because the kingdom of God on earth is just one stage of the same kingdom of God in heaven during premortality and postmortality.13 The Lord's Prayer confirms that what is done in the kingdom of God on earth is also done in heaven.14 The following discussion further confirms this truth.

In heaven, the Father organized the premortal church (kingdom of our God) among his spirit children during the grand council on Kolob.15 In Revelation 12:6, the premortal church of God fled from Kolob to the wilderness of God's celestial residence after the grand council and it remained there for 1260 Kolob years during the apostasy in heaven.16 The premortal church was restored on Kolob in Revelation 12:7. At that time, the premortal apostasy ended and the war in heaven began.17 These events in heaven precisely parallel the history of Christ's ancient church on earth from the first century AD until 1830.18 Christ organized his ancient church on earth during his mortal ministry in the likeness of God's premortal church that was organized during the grand council.19 The Great Apostasy followed on earth for 1260 years as in heaven.20 Finally, Christ's ancient church was restored on earth in 1830 when the Great Apostasy ended, just as in heaven when the premortal apostasy ended and the war in heaven began.21

The fulness of the gospel was restored on earth in 1830,22 but the fulness of God's kingdom on earth will not be ushered in until Christ prevails over Satan when Armageddon ends23 at the Second Coming.24 Christ's Second Coming25 victory over Satan26 is typical of Christ's victory over Lucifer at the end of the war in heaven.27 The kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ will prevail over Satan in the earthly battle of Armageddon just as they prevailed over Lucifer during the premortal war in heaven.28 After his defeat at the Second Coming,29 Satan will be cast down to the bottomless pit,30 just as Lucifer was defeated during the war in heaven31 and was cast down to earth.32 At Christ's Second Coming the earth will be fully cleansed and regenerated to its paradisiacal condition,33 just as Kolob was fully cleansed and regenerated to a state of purity when the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ prevailed on Kolob.34

The Father organized the premortal church of God during the grand council.35 However, the organizational structure evolved into the kingdom of God and Christ after the war in heaven ended just as the earthly Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will evolve into the millennial Church of the Firstborn after Armageddon.36 The evolution of the earthly church will begin at the future gathering of righteous saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman.37 The evolution will be complete at the Second Coming when the Church of the Firstborn descends with Christ38 and he makes a full end of all nations.39 The same evolutionary process occurred in heaven after the war in heaven when premortal spirits gathered for another organizational meeting on Kolob.40 At that council the Father organized his remaining righteous spirit children in preparation for their sojourn on this earth.41 Among other things, the Father used his foreknowledge42 to appoint this final remnant of his spirit children to the time, place, and family of their mortal birth on this earth.43 He arranged family relationships on earth44 to maximize the number of spirits that could and would achieve exaltation.45 Nothing was left to chance.46 Some spirits were foreordained to mortal birth in a favored lineage,47 including the house of Israel,48 because of their exceeding faithfulness in premortality.49

Foreordination to a favored lineage in premortality was based on the doctrine of election50 or election of grace.51 Through this doctrine, the elect receive preferential treatment in this life52 based on their premortal obedience.53 They demonstrated their obedience during the grand council,54 and during the war in heaven which became the ultimate premortal test.55 People born into a favored lineage, including the house of Israel, are foreordained to exaltation.56 This also means they are foreordained57 to a life of service.58 When they receive the gospel in this life,59 they have a duty to make the gospel available to others,60 and to be an ensign for the nations.61

In the final post-war meeting of God's righteous family on Kolob,62 the Father also organized the premortal priesthood63 into the Patriarchal Order of the Priesthood.64 The Patriarchal Order was and is the highest form of government in the kingdom of God.65 This priesthood order was limited to the noble and great spirits66 who were God's most obedient offspring in the first estate.67 The Patriarchal Order could only be implemented on Kolob after Lucifer and his angels were expelled and God's most faithful children remained for their appointment to a favored lineage.68 When the favored lineage of Israel became fixed as a distinct and chosen people69 after the war in heaven,70 the priesthood offices previously instituted during the grand council71 could be reorganized and merged into the perfected Patriarchal Order.72 The kingdom of our God that came to Kolob in Revelation 12:10 is the perfected premortal church of God organized according to the Patriarchal Order of the Priesthood.73

The Father organized the Patriarchal Order of the Priesthood in heaven74 by first appointing Michael (Adam) to stand at the head of the Patriarchal Order for this earth.75 Michael was the most intelligent spirit child of God after Jehovah76 and, for that reason, he became Adam in mortality‒the first man on this last and greatest earth of this generation.77 Adam's favored lineage continued through the patriarchal line of the Fathers,78 including Seth and his offspring.79 Noah was head of the Patriarchal Order after the flood, and the line passed to his son Shem.80 The favored line includes the seed of Abraham,81 Isaac, and his son Jacob (Israel).82 The divine Patriarchal Order in heaven at the end of the war in heaven83 included all those persons who would be born or adopted into the house of Israel.84 The house of Israel includes Adam's favored lineage before the time of Jacob who was called Israel.85

The organizational gathering of God's righteous children in heaven after the war in heaven86 has other earthly likenesses in the future gathering of saints at Adam-ondi-Ahman, just 3½ years before the Second Coming.87 For example, Christ took dominion on Kolob when Lucifer was cast down,88 just as Christ will take dominion from Satan on earth during the future gathering at Adam-ondi-Ahman.89 At this future gathering, Christ will also reorganize the priesthood offices in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and merge them90 into the Patriarchal Order of the Priesthood.91 This will occur as God's ecclesiastical kingdom begins to merge with his political kingdom.92 When combined, the ecclesiastical and political kingdoms of God will be called The Church of the Firstborn.93

The Patriarchal Order established on Kolob after the war in heaven was (and is) the model94 for (1) the full government of God on earth,95 (2) the millennial kingdom of God,96 and (3) the celestial kingdom throughout eternity.97 Exaltation worthy saints will be kings and queens,98 and priests and priestesses99 who will rule and reign in the celestial kingdom. They were foreordained to that glorious end when the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ were restored to Kolob when the war in heaven ended.100
