[§331] Earthly Ordinances Required Before the Celestial Resurrection

This podcast explains the interrelationship between the law of earthly ordinances and the order of resurrection. The law of earthly ordinances requires that all gospel ordinances be performed on mortal people in the flesh before the resurrection. Baptism and confirmation are the gateway ordinances for entry into the celestial kingdom. The sealing ordinance is the gateway ordinance necessary for exaltation in the highest degree of celestial glory. To qualify for exaltation, a person must receive all his or her gospel ordinances for themselves before their resurrection as living ordinances or by proxy as vicarious ordinances.    Children who die before the age of eight years are unaccountable and do not require baptism or confirmation. However, they still require the sealing ordinance to be exalted. The same rule and exception applies to people who reach the age of accountability but remain unaccountable because of mental and/or physical disability. Most unaccountable people will receive their necessary temple ordinances by proxy during the millennium prior to their resurrection. The morning of the first resurrection for exaltation-worthy people will continue until the end of the millennium so that these and all other people can resurrect after they first receive their gospel ordinances during the millennium as living ordinances or vicarious ordinances. This podcast also discusses the patriarchal order of the priesthood, whereby all exaltation-worthy people are linked in the resurrection as part of an eternal family chain going back to Adam and Eve.
