[§325] Life and Death During the Millennium

This podcast provides an overview and explanation of the doctrine of the millennium, which will follow the Jesus Christ’s Second Coming that ends with the binding of Satan in the bottomless pit in Revelation 20:1-3. This podcast identifies and explains the differing views of the millennium among various religions, including: the Pharisaic Jews anciently, the early Christian Fathers, the Roman Church after the days of Constantine, protestant religions since the reformation, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.   The word millennium comes from two Latin words that mean 1000 years. However, the millennium after the Second Coming is more than just another thousand year period. It is the earth’s Sabbath‒an era of peace and rest from the wickedness of the world. It is a time when Christ will reign personally upon the earth as King of kings and Lord of lords. This means he will rule both politically from his world capital at Zion (New Jerusalem) in Jackson County Missouri, and ecclesiastically from his world capital at Old Jerusalem. Christ’s millennial reign will be a perfect theocracy called the Church of the Firstborn. In this theocracy, exalted and resurrected saints will rule as kings and queens with Christ during the millennium.   Christ and resurrected saints will be present on the earth periodically, but  the millennial earth will not be their permanent residence. During this spiritual season, the knowledge of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters of the sea. This means people will know the Lord and his gospel, but it also means that they will possess the knowledge that the Lord possesses about all things, including the creation of this earth. Men and women will be able to pray according to the spirit and all such prayers will be affirmatively answered.
