[§323] Rev 20:1-3: Satan Is Bound in the Bottomless Pit for 1,000 Years

This podcast explains the symbolism and imagery used by John to describe the second stage of Spiritual Armageddon in Revelation 20:1-3, as the last and final spiritual cleansing of the earth during Jesus Christ’s Second Coming. These verses say: “AND I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”   Michael (who is also known as the mortal Adam) is the angel that comes down from heaven with the key of the bottomless pit. Michael has consistently been at the forefront of all battles against the Dragon, known as Lucifer in the premortal existence. The same four names used in these verses to identify Lucifer were previously mentioned in Revelation 12:9. The four (4) names use the world number four to universally describe Satan’s character and attributes. These verses also reflect that four (4) methods will be used to bind Satan in the bottomless pit (abyss, hell).
