[§318] Rev 19:17-18: Scavengers Eat the Supper of the Great God

This podcast explains the symbolism and imagery used by John to describe the aftermath of the destruction of wicked people at and around Jerusalem as Physical Armageddon ends in that part of the world. John records in Revelation 19:17-18 that: “I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all [men, both] free and bond, both small and great.”   The angel in this verse is Jesus Christ after he has destroyed the gentile armies in Jerusalem and the surrounding areas. In the aftermath of this destruction, Christ commands the fowls of the air and the beasts of the field to feast on the flesh of the dead bodies of all telestial-worthy people that have been killed. John identifies these wicked people in six separate categories or symbolic classes of people that are explained in this podcast. Even though the supper of the Great God is described in highly symbolic terms, it is a literal event that will be part of the physical cleansing of the earth after the Second Coming.
