[§250] Rev 14:19-20: Wicked Grapes Are Trodden in the Winepress

This podcast explains the symbolism and imagery used by John in Revelation 14:19-20 to describe the second part or phase of the harvest that occurs at the end of the Second Woe. In this phase all mortal sons of perdition will be destroyed as prophesied by John, saying: “And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand [and] six hundred furlongs.”   Jesus Christ is the Third Harvest Angel that thrusts his sickle into the earth‒meaning earthly and worldly people. They are the wicked vine of the earth that will be cast into the great winepress of the wrath of God. This symbolizes God's judgments upon all wicked sons of perdition as a class. Christ alone will tread the winepress symbolically located outside the walls of the city of Jerusalem.    The blood of wicked people flows out of the winepress as a symbol of their destruction. The destruction will be so great that blood will symbolically flow to a depth of 4 to 5 feet for the space of 1600 furlongs, which equates to approximately 160 miles. The number 1600 is a symbolic number derived from the world number four squared (4x4), which is then multiplied by 10 squared (10x10). This symbolic number identifies the entire world of wicked people who are one part of the greater whole of all wicked people. Sons of perdition are the one part destroyed during the harvest of the Second Woe (Armageddon) like grapes that are crushed in the winepress of God’s wrath.
