§242] Rev 14:9-11: The Third Angel Proclaims the Wrath of God

This podcast explains the imagery and meaning of the vision of John in Revelation 14:9-11. These verses say: “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb; And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever; and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”   The third unidentified Angel loudly pronounces judgment upon people worldwide who worship the Second Beast from Revelation 13:12-18, and have his mark (666). These wicked people are citizens of Modern Babylon who drink the wine of God's wrath without mixture. This means their punishment is undiluted and without mercy. They shall be tormented without end. The smoke of their torment is an allusion to Sodom and Gomorrah which is an ancient type for the destruction of wicked people in the modern world at the Second Coming.
