[§208] Rev 12:11: Satan’s Defeat by the Blood of the Lamb

This podcast explains events at the end of the war in heaven described by John in Revelation 12:11. This verse indicates that Michael the Archangel and his heavenly hosts overcame Satan “by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Rev 12:11) The blood of the Lamb alludes to the infinite atonement of Jesus Christ. He sacrificed his blood to cleanse people from sin, including sins committed in the premortal existence on Kolob. The spirits who accepted Christ and kept their first estate were cleansed and became innocent again in the presence of God. They were born innocent at the time of their birth in mortality.   Michael and his heavenly host also prevailed against Satan by the word of their testimony. Their testimony was accompanied by the power of the Holy Ghost, which means they spoke the words of Christ. The power of Christ  sealed up the wicked sons of perdition to condemnation. When the war in heaven ended, Satan and his followers were condemned to be cast down to this earth as unembodied spirits because they rejected the law given to them as a testimony or witness against them.   Michael and his angels also prevailed against Lucifer because they loved not their lives unto the death. This means that Michael and his angels put their spiritual lives at risk to fight with great valor against Satan. The words express the idea that it’s better to die than deny the faith.
